Hackney Marshes
London Wildlife Trust

Snapchat joined us for a Wild Work Day at Hackney Marshes, one of the largest areas of common land in Greater London with 136 hectares of green open space.
Teams worked together to build a wildlife refuge spot for beetles, hedgehogs, woodlice, snails and lots more. Circular, flatter logs were placed in a hole, dug by the team, to create a sheltered and protected place for wildlife. Taller pieces of wood were used to create a tower, which was enclosed by a fence to protect it and covered in foliage cut back from the nearby canal path.
Snapchat got creative and made a ‘Marshes Wildlife Refuge’ sign so they can visit the spot in years to come.
