On Friday 8 November, TEMPUR® UK joined GreenTheUK and Buglife at Katherine Buchan Meadow for a volunteering day. Tempur has committed to the restoration of 2.75 hectares of wildflower meadows and we were delighted to welcome them to this important local community space where they offered their time and hard work to support local wildlife.
The Tempur team worked to ensure the ground was well prepared by raking the leaves and thatch to expose the soil beneath. Once this was finished, the team sowed a mix of native wildflower seeds to help restore the plants that had been out competed by the grasses.
Another group created a Stag Beetle loggery by digging a trench and burying logs and branches to provide habitat for them to lay eggs and make homes.
We’re looking forward to seeing this area bloom later next year and thank you to Tempur, Buglife, Katherine Buchan Meadow and Ealing Council for this fantastic effort to improve local biodiversity.
