Multiple teams from LRG, a long-time supporter of efforts to restore the Solent’s native oyster reefs, came to the Portsmouth Institute of Marine Science across different days to help clean native oysters for biosecurity purposes. Since 2023, they have sponsored the restoration of over 1,000 square metres of habitat.

Thanks also to the LRG team members who helped make this possible. As part of the biosecurity requirements, more than 10,500 oysters had to be cleaned by hand before being deployed into the Solent over the following weekend.
