LRG spent a rewarding day at the Bee Sanctuary supporting wildflower restoration work in partnership with GreenTheUK and Buglife. Located in South Manchester, the Bee Sanctuary is an inspiring space. Once a landscape of former clay pits and landfill, it has been transformed over the years into a thriving nature reserve, now home to a wide range of wildlife.
LRG volunteers began the day by creating a woodchip area for local school groups to use when visiting the site and exploring the surrounding wildlife. Alongside improving access for visiting school groups, the team also collected wildflower seeds for the upcoming planting season and cut back brambles to create space for native wildflowers to establish.
It was a really positive day of conservation, teamwork and learning. Efforts like this show the impact that can be made when people come together to support and restore natural spaces.Thank you to everyone from LRG for volunteering their time to support local biodiversity in a community space.
