Woodberry Wetlands
London Wildlife Trust
17 Jun 2026
With the sun shining over North London, a team from LRG spent the day volunteering at Woodberry Wetlands, supporting this unique urban nature reserve through practical conservation work.
The day began with a guided tour of the wetlands and reservoir, where the team learned about the site's fascinating history, the diverse wildlife it supports, and the important role it plays in protecting biodiversity while providing a valuable green space for the local community.
Following the tour, the volunteers got to work creating a new pathway from logs leading into the playground. The natural pathway helps improve access for children and visitors while clearly defining the entrance using sustainable materials that blend with the surrounding environment.
After a well-earned lunch break, the team returned to complete the project, working together to leave a lasting improvement that will benefit visitors to the wetlands for years to come.
The day gave the team the opportunity to connect with nature, learn more about the importance of urban wetlands, and make a meaningful contribution to an important community space.
Thank you to everyone from LRG for volunteering their time to support the local environment and community.
